OUR HOTEL
The Grand Burnham Hut is an All- Inclusive hotel that is nestled on a hill in beautifully Kenyan Savanna with magnificent uninterrupted views of the Aberdares ranges that give a breath of the countryside. The Hut prides itself of a relaxed and superb setting for families, business travelers, companies, personal travelers and volunteers.

LOCATION
The Grand Burnham Hut sits within the Aberdares Ranges which covers a 160 km (100 mile) long mountain range of upland, north of Kenya's capital Nairobi with an average elevation of 4,001 metres (13,130 ft). It is home to a wide variety of wildlife. There are multitudes of elephant, buffalo, giant forest hog, hyena as well as the endangered black rhino and bongo. A variety of cats including leopards, servals, civet, genet and the rare African golden cat. Other threatened species including the Jackson mongoose, the black and white colobus monkey and Sykes' monkey are plentiful, as are waterbuck, reedbuck, duikers, and bushbuck
There are endless opportunities for game viewing, so all you need to do is sit back and let the wildlife come to you.
Volunteer Opportunities
The vital work of the Grand Burnham Hut is made possible by people like you who contribute their unique backgrounds, talents and skill levels. Our needs change based on current events, adding flexibility to get you involved in an area that inspires you! We work closely with neighboring communities to ensure that the our presence goes hand in hand with community development. We recognize that education is the keystone to development, and thus our quest to provide education to our neighboring communities. Every year, the Grand Burnham Hut aims to end hunger in the classroom through the establishment of school gardens where the children plant the seeds, water, and nurture the vegetables and harvest their crops. We direct a percentage of funds raised to our mission, and through this program we have been able to get children into school, help keep them there, increase enrollment, and reduce truancy, alleviate poverty and create enthusiasm for education amongst these communities.
House Rules
This house is in the African savanna so the alert supervision of children is required. Pets are allowed in the property. Free parking area is available. No fires permitted. Furniture rearrangement is not allowed as this can damage the floor.

The Grand Burnham Hut works closely with neighbouring communities to ensure that the our presence goes hand in hand with community development. We recognise that education is the keystone to development, and thus our quest to provide education to our neighbouring communities.
AGRICULTURE
The Grand Burnham Hut has developed a Community Partnership and Education Programme whose objective was to ensure that communities living adjacent to the Hut are supported by its agenda, which aims at improving their livelihoods.
HEALTH CARE
The Grand burnham Hut in conjunction with the local county government has supported the neighbouring community, Kieni. In this community, we have constructed a dispensary for the residents of this area.
EDUCATION
The Grand Burnham Hut works closely with its founding sponsor Maggie Kay Foundation to establish school gardens and to develop improved education facilities in neighbouring communities.
