Accommodation and volunteer placements are arranged separately. Agree your role, supervision, schedule, and project location with your receiving organisation before booking travel.

We can discuss introductions connected to the Maggie Kay Foundation where appropriate. Opportunities depend on local needs and host approval. Work with children requires the organisation’s safeguarding process and any required checks.

Kenya is a large country. A good accommodation choice starts with the actual location of your volunteer work.

  • Receiving organisation and confirmed project address
  • Placement dates and daily start and finish times
  • Transport requirements and separate travel costs
  • Meal times, dietary needs, and access requirements
  • Any orientation or group meeting space needed

Tell us these details and we will discuss whether Ol Kalou is a suitable base. For a placement elsewhere in Kenya, the Hut can also be a place to stay before or after your assignment.

Both options include meals prepared by our private chef, laundry, 5G Wi-Fi, access to the room and rooftop workspaces, the private library, and an included safari experience.

Rates are in US dollars for a 30-night stay for one guest. Airport transfers are quoted separately. Your written quote confirms the total payable, tax treatment, safari arrangements, and any requested extras. Ask about conference-room use, additional guests, or a different length of stay.
