BUSH BREAKFASTS

Our signature morning bush breakfasts never cease to amaze and are set up under vast Acacia trees along the lake. Enjoying a delicious hot breakfast with a glass of sparkling wine in hand and a pod of hippos wallowing in the distance makes for an unforgettable morning.

BUSH WALK

One of the best ways to see birds is during a bush walk, guests can explore the shores of Lake Ol boloissat with its masses of water fowl including Black-winged Stilt, Pied Kingfisher, Hottentot Teal and Great Cormorant. The yellow fever Acacia forests that border the lake are frequented by leopards, Colobus Monkeys, Eland and the Defassa Waterbuck, which makes this bush walk a remarkable experience

BOAT SAFARIS

We also offer boat trips on Lake Naivasha where you can marvel at the splendour of the Rift Valley, groups of hippos, Goliath Herons, African Jacanas and wildlife along the shoreline. The calm waters of the lake are perfect to watch Large-mouthed bass and Tilapia surface and catch unsuspecting insects. Water is life and Lake Naivasha shows that it is an amazing oasis within the Great Rift Valley.

GAME DRIVES

The grand burnham Hut boasts a wealth of activities. Professional safari guides will tailor the daily activities to guests’ wishes and interests to include day and night game drives Guests can roam in our safari vehicle in complete privacy and see an array of wildlife difficult to see elsewhere. Half or full day safari drive to The Salient and The Moorlands in Aberdare National Park. Search the forest for a plethora of animal activity, and capture that perfect photograph to take back home. Game drives to the Solio Sanctuary, a private game reserve that extends between the spurs of Aberdare Mountains and Mt. Kenya are possible too. This 25,000 hectare reserve became famous because of its unique success in the rearing of the White and Black Rhino. Lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes and zebras can also be spotted in large numbers.

BIRD WATCHING

Bird life found in the forest is abundant and varied with over 250 species of bird recorded. The most conspicuous group is the Sunbird, with four abundant species: Tacazze Sunbird, Golden-winged Sunbird, the emerald-green Malachite Sunbird and the tiny, double collared Sunbird. Birds can be watched whilst on a safari drive or on an organized nature walk.
